The first "Arts Legacy Award" was presented by Skokie Mayor George Van Dusen and the Skokie Village Board. In addition, November 5, 2007 was proclaimed: Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater Day in honor of the Skokie resident and Grammy-nominated blues artist for his musical achievements and mentoring to young artists.
